Welcome New Chef de Cuisine: Michael Bove
We’ve got some exciting news to share about our restaurants here at the Pitcher Inn, 275 Main and Tracks. We’re welcoming a brand-new talent to helm the kitchen: Chef de Cuisine Michael Bove.
A Solid Resume
Chef Michael comes to us from our sister Relais & Chateaux property, Winvian Farm, in Connecticut’s Litchfield Hills. At Winvian he worked under Executive Chef Chris Eddy, learning the ins and outs of the “seed-to-table” philosophy that informs the Winvian menu.
Chef Bove has also worked at the Mansion at Bald Hill in Woodstock, Connecticut, as well as the Artichoke Restaurant in Amersham, England, and his resume includes managing farmers markets as part of Farm Fresh Rhode Island. He earned a degree in Culinary Arts and Foodservice Management from Johnson & Wales University.
Hospitality and food service run in Chef Bove’s family: His parents manage a full-service inn and banquet facility, the historic Gwyn Careg Inn, in the Connecticut hamlet of Pomfret.

We couldn’t be more delighted to have Chef Bove join us here at The Pitcher Inn and oversee the farm-to-table dinners at 275 Main and Tracks. Our two dining venues put the focus on local meats and cheeses, farm-fresh produce and herbs, wild-foraged mushrooms, and fresh seafood: a locavore’s dream come true, and one delicious celebration of a regional food-shed that encompasses Warren, the Green Mountain State, and our greater New England backyard.
Of all the foods Chef Bove prepares, his favorite is pasta. He likes the variety, the many diverse ways to prepare pasta and infuse his artistic sensibility. He loves making the dishes look and taste great. When not cooking, Chef Bove enjoys running, hiking and watching the occasional film. He lives nearby in Warren.
